PropKeep is committed to making our service usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and to continuously improve the accessibility of propkeep.ca.
1. Our approach
Accessibility is part of how we design and build the product—not a one-time checklist. We prioritize semantic structure, keyboard use, readable contrast, and clear forms across Owner, Worker, and Admin experiences.
2. Measures we take
- Semantic landmarks, headings, and labels for screen-reader navigation.
- Keyboard operability for interactive controls, including visible
focus-visiblestyles. - File-upload actions exposed as real buttons (so "Add photos" and similar controls are reachable by Tab / Enter), not mouse-only labels on hidden inputs.
- Respect for the operating system "reduce motion" preference where we use animation.
- Colour choices intended to meet contrast expectations for text and controls.
- Clear form labels, required-field indication, and error messages.
- Skip-to-content and consistent page titles to support orientation.
3. Compatibility
We test with current major browsers and common assistive technologies as part of ongoing development. The Service is designed to be responsive on desktop and mobile viewports.
4. Known limitations and ongoing work
Some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA in every state (for example complex maps, third-party embeds, or newly shipped features). We track issues and improve them as we iterate. Third-party components (maps, identity, payments) may have their own accessibility characteristics outside our direct control.
5. Feedback and alternative formats
If you use assistive technology and encounter a barrier—or need information in an alternative format—please contact us. Include the page URL, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you use if you can. We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within a few business days.
6. Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may also have rights under applicable accessibility or human rights laws in your jurisdiction. This statement does not limit those rights.
7. Updates
We will revise this statement as our accessibility practices evolve. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest revision.
