This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who accesses PropKeep (propkeep.ca). It exists to keep the community safe and trustworthy. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Violations may result in content removal, limits on features, suspension, or permanent account termination.
1. Lawful use
You must use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right (including privacy, intellectual property, and consumer protection laws).
2. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against, or defame other users.
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings, jobs, profiles, reviews, credentials, or verification claims.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
- Circumvent the platform to avoid fees (including repeatedly accepting jobs you cannot finish and releasing them after the free window), or systematically solicit users to transact off-platform in a way that removes the protections and payment flows PropKeep provides.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, data, or another user's private information.
- Upload malware, scrape the Service without permission, reverse engineer except as allowed by law, or place unreasonable load on our systems.
- Collect, harvest, or misuse other users' personal information (including access codes or contact details) except as needed to perform an accepted booking.
- Post content that is obscene, hateful, violent, exploitative, or otherwise objectionable.
- Interfere with reviews, ratings, or disputes (for example fake reviews, review extortion, or retaliatory abuse).
- Use the Service if you are under 18 or otherwise ineligible under our Terms.
3. Health, safety, and property
Workers must perform jobs safely and lawfully and must not accept work they are not competent or equipped to perform. Owners must provide safe access, accurate property and hazard information, and lawful instructions. Do not request or perform work that is unsafe, illegal, or outside the scope of services the platform is designed to coordinate.
Sensitive access information must be handled confidentially and only for completing the booked visit.
4. Messaging and photos
Keep booking messages professional and relevant to the job. Do not share others' personal information publicly. Photos you upload must be ones you have the right to use and must not depict illegal activity or other people without a lawful basis.
5. Reporting abuse
If you see behaviour that violates this policy, please report it to us with as much detail as possible (booking links, screenshots, dates). We review reports and take action we consider appropriate.
6. Enforcement
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP, with or without prior notice, at our discretion. We may also limit visibility of jobs or profiles, withhold payouts where fraud is suspected (subject to applicable law), or report serious violations to law enforcement.
Enforcement decisions are intended to protect users and the platform; they are not a substitute for police or emergency services. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
7. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do.
